Cattle Selection

WANT TO BRUSH-UP ON YOUR BULL SELECTION SKILLS?

Westech Field Days is once again fortunate to have secured the services of one of Australia’s most highly regarded figures in cattle selection and classification. Russell Gray is a Field Director with the Santa Gertrudis Breeders’ (Aust) Association and is acknowledged for his very practical, hands on demonstrations at various agricultural shows and more recently at AGQuip, New South Wales. His demonstration of selection criteria and economic traits on various breeds of cattle at the 2014 Westech Field Days was so well received, that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get him back to once again share his knowledge with western beef producers. Russell’s demonstration provides a comprehensive run down on the attributes to look for when selecting animals for introduction into a herd, as well as for selection and culling within a commercial beef producing enterprise. The demonstration will be relevant to all breeds of cattle. We invite you to join us at Site Number P13, which is located, in the designated livestock display area between the Wool Pavilion and the Campdraft Arena, at 11:30am and/or 3:00pm on Tuesday and 8:45am on Wednesday.
